Sun-exposed environment and its distinct flora offer a habitat for other rare insects, as well. The vulnerable Kirby’s nomad bee (Nomada subcornuta) lives as a guest in the nest of the near threatened Scarce black mining bee (Andrena nigrospina).
In the summer of 2019, the Orellia falcata fruit fly, which does not have a Finnish name, was discovered in the area. The species has previously been encountered in Finland only twice, in the 1800s and in 2011.
